The Boy Scouts of America

The Photography Merit Badge introduces the Scout to the subject of photography. It teaches him the elements and terms involved, the basic parts and operation of both film and digital cameras and gives him the opportunity to produce a picture story or a photographic exhibit of a topic that interests him.
Scott Menaul, award-winning professional photographer of over 30 years and working Clearwater artist, is proud to be certified to deliver the Photography Merit Badge to area scouts. Menaul enjoyed being a Boy Scout as a youth in upstate New York.
Scouts should bring their own camera and the Photography Merit Badge booklet with them to class. Scott’s presentation will last one hour. The next hour will be spent for the opportunity of the scouts to ask specific questions and checking them out on the requirements for the badge.
